Freddie Haggerty will be back this weekend at ONE Friday Fights 91. The event goes down on December 13 at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, and features a number of international Muay Thai and MMA rising stars looking to capture a US$100,000 contract with the promotion.

In the featured fight for the night, Freddie Haggerty, the younger brother of ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Champion Jonathan Haggerty will take on durable Thai striker Kaoklai Chor Hapayak in a strawweight Muay Thai battle.

Haggerty currently holds a record of 2-0 and is considered to be one of the brightest prospects. On the flip side, his opponent Chor Hapayak is known for his striking and has a record of 3-4.

Freddie Haggerty opens up about fighting

As mentioned earlier, Freddie Haggerty’s brother is a fighter too. Interestingly, his elder brother, Jonathan has also flown out to Samui to support and help prepare his younger brother for the upcoming fight.

Having an elder brother who fights has certainly helped him. Moreover, their father also used to fight. Talking exclusively to Sidekick, Freddie spoke about being born into fighting:

“I was born into fighting. It was something my brother had been doing before I was of age to do it. My dad also used to fight too.”

For those unaware, Jonathan Haggerty is a 27-year-old Muay Thai and Kickboxing champion. Currently competing in ONE Championship, he holds the bantamweight kickboxing championship currently. As of right now, he holds a professional record of 26-5.

That said, there’s a lot that Freddie Haggerty can learn from his elder brother. It would be interesting to see how his upcoming fight plays out.
