Social media influencers Andrew Tate and Tristan Tate are facing serious criminal charges across three countries—Romania, the UK, and the US—linked to allegations of human trafficking, rape, and the formation of an organized crime group. The brothers, who deny all allegations, claim their encounters were consensual and that they are victims of a wider plot against them.
Romanian Trial Moves Forward
Romanian authorities arrested the Tate brothers in December 2022. Prosecutors accuse them of luring women with false promises of romantic relationships, then subjecting them to abuse and forcing them to create pornographic content under constant surveillance. The case has experienced delays due to procedural flaws, including a court-mandated revision of the indictment and the exclusion of certain evidence, such as victim testimony. Despite this, in April 2025, a Romanian court ruled that the trial can proceed, though a formal trial date has not yet been set.

UK Charges and Extradition Efforts
Meanwhile, prosecutors in the UK have charged Andrew Tate with multiple offenses including rape, assault, and human trafficking, involving three alleged victims dating back to between 2012 and 2015. Tristan faces 11 charges related to one victim. The UK has issued a European arrest warrant, and the brothers are expected to be extradited there once Romanian legal proceedings conclude.
U.S. Investigation Underway
Authorities in Florida have also launched an investigation into the brothers. After the Tates traveled to the state in early 2025, Florida’s Attorney General announced an inquiry into allegations of rape, sex with a minor, human trafficking, and money laundering. Officials emphasized a zero-tolerance policy toward crimes against women and pledged aggressive legal action if necessary.

Intimidation Allegations
While in Romanian custody, Andrew and Tristan Tate have been accused of trying to intimidate alleged victims and silence critics. They’ve filed defamation suits in Florida against a former accuser, her family, and social media users. Legal representatives for two women claim the brothers coordinated harassment campaigns from jail, including hiring private investigators and orchestrating smear campaigns online.
