Is KSI as Good as Jake Paul in Boxing?

The rivalry between KSI and Jake Paul has become one of the biggest talking points in crossover boxing. Both influencers turned fighters have made significant strides in the ring — but the debate continues: is KSI on the same boxing level as Jake Paul?

From a career perspective, Jake Paul holds the edge in professional experience. Since making his pro debut in 2020, Paul has amassed a record featuring victories over former MMA champions like Tyron Woodley, Ben Askren, and Anderson Silva. Although these opponents were past their prime and transitioning from MMA to boxing, they brought name value and combat sports pedigree. Paul has also consistently fought under professional rules, building his resume with eight-round bouts, and in his lone loss managed to go the full distance against Tommy Fury, a traditionally trained boxer.

KSI, meanwhile, has a shorter boxing CV. After splitting a pair of amateur bouts with Logan Paul in 2018 and 2019 (one draw and one win), he stepped away before returning in 2022 with a series of exhibition-style fights against influencer opponents and lower-tier professional boxers. While he’s shown speed, aggressive combinations and knockout power, the overall level of competition has not matched Jake Paul’s opposition. His most notable win came via technical decision over FaZe Temperrr, but matches against higher-level pros have yet to materialise.

Technically, Jake Paul displays a more developed jab, footwork and patience in the ring. His approach resembles a traditional boxer’s blueprint, fighting behind long-range shots before looking for the right hand. KSI fights with explosive bursts, unorthodox angles and a high-energy, brawling style. While exciting, this can leave him open defensively and less composed during longer exchanges.

Ultimately, while both fighters have carved out impressive followings and advanced far beyond “YouTuber boxing,” Jake Paul currently holds the stronger boxing résumé and appears more polished in his ring craft. KSI’s athleticism and power are undeniable, but until he faces — and defeats — higher-calibre opponents, Paul remains slightly ahead in the influencer-to-pro boxing evolution. A head-to-head showdown between the two would unquestionably settle the debate once and for all, but based on current evidence, Jake Paul is marginally the better boxer.
