Former MMA Fighter Jimmy Chaikong Found Dead in Texas Lake After Rescuing His Children

A heartbreaking story has emerged from Texas after the body of former MMA fighter Jimmy “Ninja Cowboy” Chaikong was recovered from Eagle Mountain Lake on Sunday, just hours after his two young children were pulled from the water and rescued by a passing boater.

A Day on the Lake Ends in Tragedy

On Saturday evening, around 5 p.m., boaters on Eagle Mountain Lake heard children screaming for help. They found Chaikong’s two sons floating in the water, struggling but still alive, and quickly pulled them to safety. Both were under the age of 12 and had been in the water without life jackets.

Authorities soon discovered Chaikong’s sailboat abandoned nearby. Investigators believe that something went wrong while the family was out on the lake, and Jimmy entered the water to save his children. It is thought he kept them afloat long enough for rescuers to reach them, but in doing so, he became overwhelmed by exhaustion and drowned.

By Sunday afternoon, his body was found in the southeastern part of the lake near Crest Point. The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office confirmed his death, stating that no foul play was suspected and that the case was being treated as a tragic accident.

Remembered as a Father Above All
