Brooks Identifies Fatal Flaw as Malachiev Feud Reaches Explosive Conclusion

Jarred Brooks has spent countless hours studying Mansur Malachiev’s fighting style, and “The Monkey God” believes he’s discovered the vulnerability that will end their bitter social media feud with devastating finality.

The former ONE Strawweight MMA World Champion faces his Russian rival at ONE Fight Night 36 on Friday, October 3, inside Bangkok’s legendary Lumpinee Stadium, carrying more than personal redemption into their flyweight collision.

Years of heated online exchanges have escalated beyond competitive banter into venomous personal attacks and threatening direct messages, transforming their October showdown into pure grudge match warfare.

“The past year and a half, this guy’s been sending me direct messages. He doesn’t really understand English that much, but he’s just trying to get into my head,” Brooks revealed. “His whole team has been sending me messages and all that stuff.”

Despite acknowledging Malachiev’s dangerous weapons, including spinning back kicks and power hooks, Brooks enters supremely confident after identifying crucial weaknesses in the #2-ranked contender’s approach.

“I did mock his style a lot, though. His style is kind of whack. He walks like a zombie, coming forward with his hands up,” he explained. “I’m not saying that the guy isn’t good. He has the typical Dagestani style with dangerous spinning back kicks, and he has a dangerous hook.”

Brooks believes Malachiev’s overly cautious approach creates exploitable openings, particularly his tendency to shoot for takedowns after absorbing damage rather than engaging in sustained exchanges.

“He leaves his neck out because he is very ‘guillotinable,'” Brooks analyzed. “He likes to tire his opponents out by letting them push forward and try to finish at a pace that he’s used to.”

The 32-year-old American desperately needs redemption after back-to-back defeats shattered his championship momentum. Moving up to flyweight for his second attempt at the division represents a fresh start against elite competition.

Victory over Malachiev would position Brooks for another shot at Joshua Pacio, whose strawweight crown continues haunting his championship dreams despite their epic trilogy conclusion.

“I’m a dog that gets bitten, and then I’m gonna bite you back three times as hard,” Brooks declared.
