Sean O’Malley Eyes Petr Yan Title Bout at White House Event Ahead of UFC 324 Clash With Song Yadong
Sean O’Malley is chasing another UFC bantamweight title opportunity after losing his championship crown in 2024 against Merab Dvalishvili. He now faces Song Yadong at UFC 324 in a high-stakes bout widely viewed as a decisive title eliminator.

During interviews, Suga openly predicted victory against Yadong while immediately turning attention toward a blockbuster rematch with the champion Petr Yan. He believes their meeting at a White House event would be one of the most lucrative fights to make.
“I think I go out there and beat Song. Me vs. Petr at the White House just makes sense. I don’t know what else is a bigger fight than that if we’re just going off pure big fights. If we’re going off what makes the absolute most sense,” said Sean O’Malley via Deatherow MMA.
According to the reports, the White House event will host 7-8 title fights and will be the most stacked card ever. However, currently, the UFC has only one American champion, and O’Malley wants to fill that void by representing his nation.
During their first faceoff, O’Malley mocked Song Yadong by wearing a COVID mask, instantly intensifying their rivalry. Tensions have continued rising as both fighters chase victory. O’Malley also revealed his daughter will attend, motivating him to deliver an emotional and memorable win.

In a recent interview, O’Malley praised Yan’s performance, admitting the execution was perfect. “Petr has always been one of my favorite fighters to watch. I remember watching him coming up, and I was like, this motherf***r is so skilled, he’s a scary little dude,” Sean O’Malley continued.
Sean O’Malley and Petr Yan have previously clashed, with ‘Suga’ securing victory through sharper striking and superior composure. That performance earned him a title opportunity in 2022, marking a turning point in his rapid rise toward championship contention.
