Allycia Hellen Rodrigues Has Waited Years For This — Now She’s Ready To Go To War With Phetjeeja

Long before Allycia Hellen Rodrigues became ONE Women’s Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion, she was a fan watching from Fortaleza, Brazil — captivated by a Thai girl who could defeat boys.

That girl was Phetjeeja. And on March 13, inside Bangkok’s iconic Lumpinee Stadium, the admiration ends and the war begins.

The pair headline ONE Fight Night 41 on Prime Video in U.S. primetime — a super-fight years in the making between two women who have ruled their respective striking disciplines without interruption.

“I’ve known Phetjeeja since before I came to live in Thailand, back when she used to fight boys,” Rodrigues said. “I always knew that this opportunity would come. And now it has arrived, and it is one of the biggest [fights] of my career. I am very excited.”

The Brazilian has earned that excitement. Since unifying the ONE Women’s Atomweight Muay Thai World Championship by defeating Janet Todd in March 2023, Rodrigues has defended the gold four times — each performance more commanding than the last. Johanna Persson and Marie McManamon both fell inside the distance.

Phetjeeja’s journey ran parallel in ambition. After earning her six-figure ONE contract at ONE Friday Fights in May 2023, she made an immediate transition to kickboxing, dismantling Anissa Meksen for the interim title before unifying it against Todd. Her career record now reads a staggering 210-6. She has never lost inside ONE Championship.

Neither has Rodrigues. Something has to give.

“This is the fight everyone has wanted to see for a long time,” the champion said. “I hope she is ready too, because it’s going to be a war.”

The Phuket Fight Club representative has studied her opponent carefully, and she believes she’s already identified the decisive edge.

“The advantages I believe I have over Phetjeeja are mainly the clinch game,” Rodrigues said. “She doesn’t really like to clinch in fights. I believe that is a weak point of hers.”

Accessing that clinch against Phetjeeja’s elite hand speed and footwork will require everything Rodrigues has. But the champion isn’t intimidated. She’s been preparing for this her entire career.

“I can guarantee that it will be one of the biggest female fights of the year,” she said. “A fight where no one will be able to blink.”
