Darren Till has never been one to think small, and even after moving away from the UFC, the Liverpool fighter is still chasing big names and big moments. Till has been exploring opportunities in boxing and crossover fights, and now he has mentioned a surprising name he would like to face next: former world champion Carl Froch.
Till made the comments during a recent interview, where he was asked about potential future opponents. Rather than calling out current fighters from his own weight class or other MMA names, Till instead brought up Froch, a retired boxing legend known for his toughness and knockout power. The idea of a crossover fight between the two immediately caught attention online, especially given the size difference and Froch’s long retirement from professional boxing.
Till also spoke about his fighting future in general and made it clear that he does not plan to retire anytime soon. According to him, he believes he still has around four years left in combat sports, which could include boxing, MMA, or crossover bouts.
”Why don’t we get Carl Froch? Let’s get Carl Froch.”

Till still looking for big fights outside the UFC
Since leaving the UFC, Darren Till has been focusing on new opportunities, including boxing and influencer or crossover promotions. He also launched his own fight promotion, Gorilla Fight Promotions, showing that he wants to stay involved in the sport both as a fighter and a promoter.
A potential fight with Carl Froch would be a massive event from a name value perspective alone. Froch is a former super middleweight world champion and fought in huge stadium fights in the UK during his career, most notably at Wembley Stadium in front of tens of thousands of fans. Even though Froch is now retired, he has stayed in shape and occasionally hints at exhibition fights or returns in some capacity.

For Till, calling out a name like Froch shows that he is thinking more about big events and entertainment fights rather than traditional rankings or title paths. With crossover boxing continuing to grow, a fight like this, while unlikely in a professional sense, is not impossible in the current fight landscape.
Whether the fight actually happens or not remains to be seen, but Darren Till has made one thing clear: he still sees several years left in his fighting career, and he wants those years to include big names, big stages, and big fights.
