Dana White Tells Critics to “Shut the F*ck Up” Amid Backlash Over UFC’s Use of AI in Fight Promotion

Dana White on UFC using AI

The UFC remains the biggest MMA promotion globally, delivering elite fighters, thrilling bouts, and unmatched weekly entertainment for fans worldwide. Over time, the organization has adopted marketing strategies, leveraging social media, digital content, and storytelling to expand its global reach.

With advancements in artificial intelligence, the UFC has begun incorporating AI-generated visuals and videos to promote fights more efficiently. Despite the technological appeal, many fans have voiced criticism, arguing that relying on AI undermines human creativity and disrespects professional artists.

During the recent post-fight presser of UFC Seattle, CEO Dana White was asked about this in detail. White gave a rather blunt reply, totally avoiding the complaints from the fans.

Give me a f**king break. AI is coming, and if we’re using AI who gives a sh*t. People are upset, and we should use artists? How about this. Shut the f**k up and watch the fights,” said Dana White via UFC Seattle post-fight presser.

Dana White has repeatedly expressed interest in working with Mark Zuckerberg to integrate advanced AI into UFC systems. He has been particularly eager to introduce AI-driven pound-for-pound rankings, aiming to modernize fighter evaluation and fan engagement metrics.

White believes such innovation alongside Zuckerberg’s technological vision could revolutionize how rankings are calculated, analyzed, and presented to global audiences. In another move reflecting that partnership enthusiasm, he renamed the Las Vegas Apex facility as Meta Apex, symbolically embracing the future.

These steps underline White’s commitment to blending sports entertainment with cutting-edge technology, even as fans remain divided over increasing AI. It would be interesting to see whether the promotion shifts to 100 percent AI-driven content over professionally shot videos.

Dana White updates on UFC’s recent fallout with Jon Jones

Following the announcement of the upcoming UFC White House event, former heavyweight champion Jon Jones was never extremely disappointed. According to Jones, he was treated unfairly by the UFC and wasn’t given the money he wanted to come back.

White mentioned that Jones is suffering from severe arthritis, and the promotion had no interest in bringing him back. During the recent press conference, White again spoke in detail about what happened behind the scenes.

Jon Jones knows exactly what happened and this happens every week at the UFC…You think Jon Jones is clamoring to fight…we have to give this guy 3 fights a year if he really wants to fight…and if we don’t we have to pay him,” Dana White continued.

Recently, former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou backed Jon Jones and called out UFC for disrespecting their GOAT. Ngannou has himself experienced a similar relationship with UFC and mentioned that he has always warned fighters about this.
