Abdallah Ondash Has His Eyes On Aliff And Prajanchai After Denkriangkrai At The Inner Circle

Abdallah Ondash has won seven of eight promotional fights, secured a six-figure ONE Championship contract, and put three opponents away in succession. The contract, however, was always a means to an end and the destination he has mapped out is becoming the first Lebanese athlete to claim a ONE World Title.

The 24-year-old Tiger Muay Thai representative faces Denkriangkrai Mavinn Muaythai in strawweight Muay Thai at The Inner Circle on Friday, May 29, live in Asia primetime from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Abdallah secured his contract with a third-round knockout of Kompet Sitsarawatsuer at ONE Friday Fights 132 last November. It was a result that arrived alongside a genuine sense of disbelief despite the record that had built toward it.

“It was very nice. Honestly, it was a surprise for me, but I already had a good record in ONE Championship,” he said. “After getting the contract, I will do my best and win my first fight with the contract.”

That first contracted fight is Denkriangkrai. He’s a 27-year-old Thai veteran riding a five-fight winning streak with 62 career wins who is himself chasing the contract a victory over Abdallah would deliver. The experience and durability he brings make him the kind of opponent who can punish a contracted fighter who arrives distracted by bigger ambitions.

Abdallah has heard none of that concern. His read on the matchup is direct and free of complication.

“He’s a good fighter, but I don’t care. I’m ready,” he said. “He’s won five fights in a row, but he never fought Arabic people before. Now he will. We are different. We have strong hearts.”

Denkriangkrai’s comfort in close-range exchanges, which is walking opponents down and throwing combinations in tight, suits Abdallah’s style rather than threatening it. The prospect of a firefight at Lumpinee Stadium this Friday is not a warning. It is an invitation.

“I have everything. I have good punching power. I have good kicking power too. Maybe this fight, I will kick more, not only punch,” Abdallah said. “I don’t think about the knockout. I focus on the fight. If the knockout comes, the knockout comes. A firefight is always good.”

The names waiting beyond Denkriangkrai have already been chosen. He picked Aliff Sor Dechapan, who beat Abdallah’s younger brother Ramadan in December, and ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Champion Prajanchai PongSuphan PK in that order. He has already worked out how to solve the Aliff puzzle.

“I like tall opponents. Tall bodies don’t always have power. I have good kicks and punches. He kicks and moves back a lot. He’s fast, yes, but not like me,” Abdallah said. “The first tall fighter I fought, I knocked him out. It will be the same for Aliff.”

The title shot is where every road leads. Two of the division’s biggest names stand between him and it, and he approaches them with the same uncomplicated confidence.

“Prajanchai is legend. Sam-A is legend. But I don’t care,” Abdallah said. “Winning the ONE World Title is very good for my country. I will be proud.”
