Prajanchai’s Two-Sport Quest Resumes Against Dangerous Chinese Kickboxer
A 344-53 career record and two ONE Championship World Titles have not softened Prajanchai Pongsuphan PK’s appetite for the hardest fight available.
The two-sport ONE World Champion returns from a lengthy injury layoff to face former title challenger Wang Junguang in a three-round strawweight kickboxing bout at The Inner Circle 35, streaming live in Asia primetime exclusively for members from Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium on Friday, October 16.
Prajanchai’s comeback arrives nearly a year after losing the kickboxing crown to Jonathan Di Bella and subsequently undergoing surgery, a grueling process that sidelined the PK Saenchai Muaythaigym product as he worked back to full health. Rather than easing back in with a tune-up fight, the Bangkok native chose a dangerous striking veteran who once came within a whisker of becoming the promotion’s first strawweight kickboxing king.
The 31-year-old’s résumé already reads like a highlight reel of Thai combat sports dominance. He debuted in 2021 by dethroning Sam-A Gaiyanghadao for the strawweight Muay Thai title, temporarily lost the belt to Joseph Lasiri in 2022, then avenged that loss in under 90 seconds to become undisputed champion. In 2024, he added the kickboxing crown against Di Bella to achieve two-sport supremacy.
Standing across from him is a fighter with his own compelling story. Wang, 31, began his martial arts journey at the Shaolin Temple studying traditional kung fu before becoming a former Enfusion Kickboxing Champion. He earned a shot at the inaugural ONE Strawweight Kickboxing World Title in 2019 after demolishing Federico Roma via first-round TKO, ultimately falling to Sam-A in a five-round war on the scorecards. A razor-thin split-decision loss to Aslanbek Zikreev in 2020 followed before Wang stepped away from the promotion.
A returning Muay Thai champion looking to reassert himself in kickboxing against a veteran who has already tested the division’s best sets up an intriguing comeback test. Prajanchai successfully defended his Muay Thai crown in 2025 against Ellis Badr Barboza via TKO before Di Bella reclaimed the kickboxing title in a rematch later that year. For Prajanchai, October 16 marks the first step back toward two-sport glory once again.
