UKFC 46 Crowns New Champions, Highlight Knockouts On Biggest Night In Promotion’s History
The hype heading into UKFC 46 this past Saturday night was that it was one of the most stacked cards of the year and the biggest event in the organisation’s history. And for those in attendance, it did not disappoint.
Inside Preston’s Stage City Event Centre, amateur Grand Prix finals were sealed, new champions were crowd, milestone moments were met and one monumental knockout made waves.
In the main event, Luke Burns turned the momentum around since turning professional by earning the first win of his stint. He outworked Manchester Top Team’s Dale Bolton to pick up the unanimous decision win.
Burns was on the backfoot in the opening round, however he nullified the striking acumen of Bolton, weighing him down with heavy wrestling to remain one step ahead of the Mancunian through rounds two and three to garner a much needed victory.
Before that, Zac Fry earned his third consecutive win as a professional, defeating 12-fight veteran Pav Sahota by rear-naked choke in the second round. He picked apart the experienced foe on the feet, using his calm and collected striking skills to force Sahota to wrestle. From there, Fry captured his opponent’s back in the second frame and sunk in the rear-naked choke to seal the win and remain unbeaten in what’s been an impressive year for the hometown boy.
Elsewhere, Dylan Hall was crowned the UKFC Amateur Flyweight Champion after submitting former champ Bruce Riley in what was undoubtedly the best amateur matching of the year.
Hall and Riley stood toe to toe in the early going, trading strikes at a lightning fast pace. In the second frame, the Manchester Top Team prodigy dropped the former unbeaten Riley with a right hand before sinking in the rear-naked choke to capture the crown in enemy territory.
With the UKFC Amateur Light Heavyweight Title on the line, Italy’s Davide Poletti upset the applecart with a stunning 19-second head kick finish of Anthony Diprose.
The latter’s signature brawling style tagged Poletti early, but the newly minted king regained his composure to blitz Diprose with the fight-ending blow that sent his man down to the mat and out cold.
UKFC’s amateur grand prix finals were also made official after thrilling action in the semi-finals.
In the flyweight tournament, Joshua Clossick weathered the storm of Xabi Aguilera, making quick work of him to capture a first-round rear-naked choke. Leo Evans then earned another impressive submission win of the same ilk as he tapped out Louie McEvoy.
In the featherweight semis, Lewis Clarke outworked Stanley Grewal across three rounds to earn a convincing unanimous decision victory. Setting up the final, the tournament’s dark horse Dave Letchford emerged the winner on three days’ notice after controlling touted star Alfie Lennon across three rounds of a frantically paced bout.
The welterweight fragment saw Marcos Nzee dominate Jakub Szymanczyk with a rear-naked choke as battle-tested Harry Hardaker portrayed a striking masterclass over Oliver Gorecki to set up a rematch between the finalists. Previously, Hardaker defeated Nzee by unanimous decision, so there’s an extra element of excitement with the history between them.
All Grand Prix finals will take place on Saturday, 5th December at UKFC 47, inside Preston, England’s Stage City Centre as the North West-based promotion looks to finish 2026 in its strongest position ever.
