Rodtang And Nong-O Finally Meet As ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix Quarterfinals Take Shape
Last November, a hospital bed stood between Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangnon and Nong-O Hama. The two Thai greats were booked for ONE 173 until Rodtang fell ill during fight week and was admitted to hospital.
Nearly a year later, the fight is back on as a quarterfinal of the 2026 ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix at The Inner Circle 38 on Friday, November 13. The event streams live in Asia primetime from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, exclusively for members at live.onefc.com.
The tournament winner earns the silver belt and a direct path to reigning ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Asadula “The Dagestan Ninja” Imangazaliev. For two former titleholders, the road back starts here.
Rodtang’s year took a detour after the cancellation. The #2-ranked contender switched disciplines to face Takeru “Natural Born Krusher” Segawa in the Japanese legend’s retirement bout at ONE SAMURAI 1 in April, a sequel to the 80-second knockout Rodtang scoredin their first meeting.
Takeru reversed the result, finishing him by fifth-round TKO. Now re-signed, Rodtang pursues his 275th professional win and a return to the throne he once defended five times.
The #3-ranked Nong-O owns seven consecutive bantamweight title defenses and 268 career wins. The 39-year-old lost to Imangazaliev in the second round in March before decisively outpointing Kongthoranee Sor Sommai in their trilogy bout at The Inner Circle 20.
On paper, it is a study in contrasts. Rodtang’s durability and relentless forward pressure run straight into Nong-O’s precise timing and heavy right kicks.
The second quarterfinal belongs to the next generation. Japan’s #4-ranked Shimon Yoshinari, 22, holds a 27-1 record and has never lost in ONE, while Lebanon’s #5-ranked Ramadan “The Scorpion” Ondash is a 19-year-old knockout artist with a 14-4 slate.
Ondash has won back-to-back since moving up from strawweight, beating Suriyanlek Por Yenying and Johan “Jojo” Ghazali. Shimon, meanwhile, knocked out Suablack Tor Pran49 at ONE SAMURAI 3 just weeks ago.
Two of these four will leave Lumpinee Stadium one win closer to the silver belt. For the two legends in particular, a year of waiting ends with only one of them still standing in the bracket.
