The ever-energetic presenter Ant McPartlin was spotted pushing his fitness limits during a break from filming the latest series of I’m A Celebrity. He took time out of the jungle routine in Australia to hit a boxing class at Cabarita Beach, New South Wales. The 50-year-old donned a black t-shirt, shorts and towel around his neck for an intense hour-long session that left him visibly sweaty but clearly invigorated. According to those nearby, fitness has become a big part of his off-camera schedule while co-host Dec Donnelly and he juggle the live demands of the show.
Behind the Scenes of the Workout
During the downtime between live segments of I’m A Celebrity, McPartlin used the moment to get active. The class reportedly involved boxercise drills and was timed to fit in with the hosts’ early bedtimes and morning starts required by the live show’s Australian schedule. A source noted that “there’s not many better ways to stay in shape than a boxing class” and that McPartlin “likes to take the opportunity to keep himself active when he gets the chance in his hectic schedule.”

On top of the workout session he also marked his recent 50th birthday while filming, receiving a photobook gift from Donnelly and even discovering a novelty “toilet-roll cake” left in his trailer. Though primarily known as a television presenter, McPartlin’s fitness focus shows another side of his approach to the rigours of a demanding production schedule.
For fans of the series it’s a reminder that even when the cameras aren’t rolling, the presenters are very much engaged in staying on top of their game — not just in front of the jungle cameras, but behind the scenes as well.
