Banluelok Eager To Face Songchainoi In The Inner Circle 27 Headliner: ‘The Ultimate Fight’
Some opportunities arrive quietly. Banluelok Sitwatcharachai’s landed like a jolt of electricity the moment he found out who he was fighting.
The Thai veteran meets former ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Title challenger Songchainoi Kiatsongrit in the main event of The Inner Circle 27, streaming live from Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium this Friday, August 21.
Banluelok carries a 90-22 career record and a 5-1 ONE tally into the fight, his lone promotional loss coming against reigning champion Nadaka.
“I was hyped when I found out I got Songchainoi. This is the ultimate fight to prove whether I’ve got what it takes to earn a ONE contract,” he said.
Banluelok has studied Songchainoi closely, and he believes he has identified a genuine flaw to exploit in an opponent everyone else in the division considers nearly impossible to finish.
“Songchainoi is an aggressive brawler, but his only real lethal weapon is his hands. That’s different from other guys I’ve fought who bring a more well-rounded attack.
“The only area where he has the upper hand is pure power. But as long as I don’t get caught clean, I’m confident I can absorb his power. As for his durability, yeah, he’s tough as nails, but I trust my power too. If I hit him right on the spot, he’s going down,” he said.
Beating the sport’s most durable action fighter would mean more than just a contract to Banluelok. It would mean becoming the first man ever to finish him.
“My goal is to be the first man to knock Songchainoi out. If I pull that off, I’m confident the ONE contract is mine. Even if it goes to a decision win, I still think I have a great shot.”
Beyond Friday, Banluelok is fixated on one specific piece of unfinished business.
“Second is getting a rematch with Nadaka. I was so disappointed with my performance in our first fight. I completely underperformed and let down everyone who was cheering for me. I want a chance to redeem myself, and I’m 100 percent confident that if we run it back, I’ll bring a completely different performance.”
