PBC Promotions presents another headlining blockbuster Pro Boxing match, which will be live on Prime Video. This match features Caleb Plant and Jose Armando Resendiz in the 168 lbs (76.2 kg) weight class for the Super Middleweight division. Both fighters come into this match with a win from their last fight and have recorded three wins and two losses since 2021. Here’s a quick breakdown—and who might be the smarter bet?
Fighters’ Profiles and Strength
Caleb Plant – WLWLW
Caleb Plant is also known as “Sweethands” because of how fast his punches connect with his opponents’ chins. He has a professional record of 23 wins and two losses.
His most memorable achievement came in 2019 when he defeated Jose Uzcategui to capture the IBF super middleweight championship. Plant dominated that fight from start to finish with his agility, smart attacks, and excellent control of distance and momentum.
Standing six feet tall with a reach of nearly two meters, Plant is known for his smooth technique, quick feet, and exceptional defense. He prefers to observe from a distance and uses his footwork to control the pace of the fight. Even when opponents close in, he responds quickly with well-placed strikes. His quick reflexes and skill make it very hard for opponents to take him down.
His last fight was on September 14, 2024, against Trevor McCumby. He won the vacant Interim WBA World Super Middleweight Title by knockout in the ninth round.
Despite his talent and flair, Plant lacks the power to deliver fight-ending blows often. Only 12 of his wins have come by knockout.
Jose Armando Resendiz – WLWWL
Jose Armando Resendiz, also known as “Toro,” has recorded three wins and two losses in his last five fights.
His most recent fight was on February 21, 2025, at a Bxstars Promotion event. He faced Fernando Paliza on the main card and won by knockout in the fifth round.
Earlier that year, Resendiz challenged Elijah Garcia for the WBC Continental Americas Middleweight Title. Unfortunately, he lost by knockout in the eighth round.

In the same year, he scored a significant win against Jarrett Hurd on a co-main event. He won early in the tenth round when Hurd suffered a severe lip laceration, resulting in a cut knockout.
In 2022, Resendiz fought only once. He defeated Heber Rondon by second-round stoppage.
Other notable victories include wins over Quilisto Madera (split decision), Joaquin Murrieta (technical knockout), Michel Rosales (KO/TKO), Jaime Hernandez (TKO/KO), and Miguel Angel Suarez (KO/TKO).

Final Prediction
For great boxing fans, this match promises great entertainment. Caleb Plant had trouble with Trevor McCumby’s power, so he decided to smother him by closing the distance. This reduced McCumby’s range and power. Once he made that adjustment, Caleb’s superior boxing skills and ring IQ really shined. If the fight had gone past the stoppage, Caleb was going to hurt him badly. This is the best way to beat a defensive fighter who uses a lot of footwork—not just with power, but also with unorthodox lunging.
From the press conference reactions, it’s clear Caleb doesn’t know exactly what to expect from Jermall Charlo. Every time they are close, Caleb keeps his guard up just in case. Caleb is a sensitive guy, which might explain why he sometimes gases out. He stays tense all the time. On the other hand, Charlo is easygoing and didn’t think Caleb was serious when he acted the way he did. Charlo was shocked but later realized that grabbing Caleb’s beard, even if in play, was disrespectful.
I think Caleb can take anything Charlo throws at him. He handled everything from Jose Benavidez, who is bigger and stronger. It’s definitely going to be a competitive fight, no doubt. But I don’t see Charlo knocking out Caleb. Charlo couldn’t even knock out Benavidez, who is a volume puncher.
Some people think Charlo got “punked” and will lose the fight. I believe Charlo will still lose, but it will be up to the judges to decide.
