Chase DeMoor Questions Deontay Wilder After Underwhelming Win Over Chisora

Deontay Wilder may have secured the victory against Derek Chisora, but the performance has sparked criticism across the boxing world. One of the most vocal reactions came from Chase DeMoor, who didn’t hold back when sharing his thoughts online.

Posting on X, DeMoor took aim at Wilder’s display, suggesting the former heavyweight champion is no longer the same dangerous force that once dominated opponents.

“Based on tonight’s performance…. He’s no longer the feared ‘bronze bomber’ he’s just a long man, that I will gladly punch on.”

Wilder did get his hand raised on the night, but it was far from his best self inside the ring. Known for his explosive knockouts and ability to end fights in an instant, this version of Wilder looked more cautious and less threatening, allowing Chisora to remain competitive for large parts of the bout.

Concerns growing around Wilder’s form

For years, Wilder’s identity has been built around fear factor and raw power, but this performance raised real questions about whether that aura is beginning to fade. He still showed glimpses of his trademark ability, but the consistency and dominance that once defined him were missing.

Chisora, known for his toughness, managed to withstand much of Wilder’s offense and push the pace at times, something that would have been far less likely against the peak version of the American.

DeMoor’s comments reflect a growing sentiment among some fans and fighters that Wilder is no longer at his devastating best. While a win is a win, the expectation around Wilder has always been more than just victory, it has been dominance.

With the heavyweight division as competitive as ever, Wilder will likely need a far sharper performance next time out if he wants to silence critics and prove that the “Bronze Bomber” is still very much a threat.
