Conor McGregor Responds After Being Named UFC’s Most Drug-Tested Fighter Ahead of Ban Return

Conor McGregor

It has been over four years since Conor McGregor last competed inside the UFC Octagon after suffering a brutal leg injury. The injury occurred during his trilogy bout against veteran lightweight contender Dustin Poirier, forcing an extended recovery period away from competition.

Throughout his rehabilitation, McGregor noticeably gained significant muscle mass and overall size, sparking speculation and controversy among critics. Many observers accused the Irish superstar of using performance-enhancing drugs, allegations that he consistently and strongly denied publicly.

After reentering the official drug testing pool in 2024, McGregor reportedly missed several scheduled tests during that period. Those missed tests ultimately resulted in an eighteen-month suspension, further delaying his highly anticipated return to action.

However, a recent UFC Anti-Doping database update revealed three successful tests, which McGregor proudly reshared online. “Well no surprise there. As always, the most tested,” wrote Conor McGregor via X.

In recent months, Conor McGregor has remained highly active in training, consistently maintaining peak physical condition. The Irish superstar also embraced a personal spiritual journey and married his longtime partner, Dee Devlin, in a private ceremony. Beyond his personal life, McGregor expanded his business portfolio, actively promoting Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship and other ventures.

UFC veteran believes Conor McGregor will headline the UFC White House event

Since the announcement of the UFC White House event, Conor McGregor has actively campaigned for a spot on the historic fight card.
Despite currently sitting outside the official top rankings, McGregor remains highly motivated to compete, publicly expressing confidence about securing a headline opportunity.

Given his unmatched influence, global popularity, and proven pay-per-view drawing power, many believe the promotion could adjust traditional rules to accommodate their biggest superstar. Current featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski recently addressed the speculation and shared his honest perspective regarding McGregor.

“You can’t have Conor McGregor not headline it – it wouldn’t make sense. I think a few of the standard things go out the window for this type of event,” said Alexander Volkanovski via his YouTube.

Previously, it was Michael Chandler who was supposed to fight McGregor, but now there is no appropriate opponent. There are some big names, such as Nate Diaz, Carlos Prates, etc., but nothing has been announced. According to CEO Dana White, all the details about the much-anticipated White House event will be announced.
