Jake Paul refuses to slow down, even after the most punishing defeat of his boxing career. Fresh off a sixth-round knockout loss to Anthony Joshua, the YouTuber-turned-boxer is already stirring debate by setting his sights on another heavyweight name — Francis Ngannou. The timing has raised eyebrows, especially given that Paul is currently recovering from a broken jaw that required surgery following the fight.
Paul suffered his first stoppage loss when Joshua’s experience and size proved too much late in the bout. While Paul showed flashes of resistance early, the gap in class eventually told. The damage left him hospitalized, eating through a straw, and forced into a recovery period that could sideline him for months. Still, that hasn’t stopped him from talking about what comes next.

Jake Paul Questions Ngannou’s Durability
Appearing on the Impaulsive podcast, Paul reflected on his loss to Joshua and quickly shifted the conversation toward Francis Ngannou. Paul claimed he performed better against Joshua than Ngannou did, arguing that he lasted longer and had moments of success before being stopped. He then made his most controversial remark, saying Ngannou “has no chin,” pointing directly to Ngannou’s second-round knockout loss to Joshua earlier in the year.
Paul suggested that Ngannou’s boxing credentials have been overstated and implied that the former UFC champion struggled the moment he faced a truly elite heavyweight puncher. He also hinted that Ngannou previously passed on a chance to fight him, framing the matchup as unfinished business.
Ngannou’s boxing journey has been unpredictable. His split-decision loss to Tyson Fury in 2023 earned praise, but the knockout defeat to Joshua exposed defensive gaps and raised questions about how his legendary MMA power translates in pure boxing. Paul is clearly using that narrative to build confidence and sell the idea that he could outbox — and outlast — Ngannou.
The real concern, however, is Paul’s own condition. Taking on one of the most feared punchers in combat sports while coming off a serious jaw injury would be an enormous risk. Ngannou’s power remains a genuine threat, regardless of questions surrounding his chin.
For now, Paul’s callout feels like classic post-fight bravado mixed with smart self-promotion. Whether the fight ever happens is uncertain, but once again, Jake Paul has ensured that all eyes remain firmly on him.
