Jake Paul Issues Massive MMA Challenge to Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov

Jake Paul

Jake Paul has become one of the biggest names in combat sports despite his controversial YouTube beginnings over recent years. He built his reputation by fighting former UFC veterans and consistently headlining major, lucrative pay-per-view boxing events.

In his last bout, he faced Anthony Joshua in a shocking crossover fight and ultimately suffered a brutal KO loss. Despite the defeat, the fight generated massive revenue, with both fighters earning around $90 million each from the event.

Paul suffered a broken jaw during the bout, but he has since recovered fully and is preparing for a return. Although no official fight has been announced yet, he continues teasing matchups and ambitious plans involving mixed martial arts competition.

In an interview, Paul expressed interest in making his MMA debut against legendary fighters, targeting the sport’s biggest icons. “One of the biggest fights that can happen in the world is me vs. McGregor in MMA, but also me vs. Khabib in MMA. It would be massive. We need to get Khabib out of retirement,” said Jake Paul via COMPLEX.

Paul has been calling out Conor McGregor for years now and has exchanged several verbal insults. However, McGregor has mostly responded to them online, but no fight has ever gotten into negotiations.

On the other hand, Khabib Nurmagomedov has been retired from UFC for almost six years and has fully shifted his focus towards coaching. The fighter has denied millions of dollars to return to fighting from the UFC and other opportunities.

While Paul’s plans are ambitious, fans are doubtful about the ‘Eagle’ ever making a comeback. On the other hand, McGregor is currently aiming for his potential comeback in UFC later this year.

Jake Paul talks about boxing with UFC lightweight champion

Jake Paul has been constantly maintaining beef with some of the biggest names in combat sports, including Ilia Topuria. Both recently exchanged insults during a live stream and talked about a potential boxing bout.

However, according to Jake Paul, UFC fighters just talk big but aren’t allowed to go beyond their contracts to fight outside the promotion. According to Paul, boxing with Topuria will be easy because of the weight difference between them. “It would be like playing with a little toy. He’s like 5’5”… he can’t even ride a roller coaster. The guy is tiny,” said Jake Paul.

Ilia Topuria is currently scheduled to fight the current Interim lightweight champion Justin Gaethje at the Freedom 250 event. The fighter is the fan favourite to win the bout and continue his undefeated streak. It would be interesting to see if his rivalry with Paul develops anywhere else.
