The debate around whether MMA stars can compete with professional boxers continues to dominate combat sports conversations. Recently, Logan Paul shared his thoughts on a potential boxing matchup between his brother Jake Paul and UFC champion Ilia Topuria during an episode of the Impaulsive podcast.
Logan made it clear that he believes his brother would have a significant advantage if the fight took place under boxing rules.
Speaking on the podcast, Logan argued that Jake’s experience and focus on boxing would be the deciding factor. According to him, while Topuria is an elite mixed martial artist, boxing is a completely different discipline that favors someone who has spent years specializing in it.

Jake Paul has built his reputation in boxing by facing a mix of former MMA fighters and professional boxers since turning pro in 2020. Over time he has improved his technique, power and ring IQ while competing regularly in the sport. Logan pointed out that this dedicated experience inside the boxing ring would play a major role if Jake ever faced Topuria.
On the other hand, Ilia Topuria is widely regarded as one of the most dangerous fighters in the UFC. Known for his knockout power and elite grappling, Topuria became one of the promotion’s biggest stars after capturing the featherweight title. However, most of his success has come inside the octagon where he can combine striking, wrestling and submissions.

Logan emphasized that when those additional skills are removed and the fight becomes strictly boxing, the dynamics change drastically. In his view, Jake’s training specifically for boxing — including years of sparring, fighting and studying the sport — would give him the edge.
The conversation comes at a time when crossover fights between boxing and MMA fighters are becoming increasingly common. Jake Paul himself has already fought several MMA veterans in the boxing ring, further fueling debates about how UFC champions would fare in pure boxing contests.
