Dillon Danis was meant to return on the December 20, 2025 Misfits Boxing ‘Fight Before Christmas’ event in Dubai, facing Anthony Taylor. That plan collapsed almost instantly after the wild scenes at UFC 322. Cageside in New York, Danis was surrounded and attacked by members of Islam Makhachev’s entourage in a chaotic moment that spread across social media. Misfits later confirmed the doctors refused to clear him, ruling him out of the holiday card.
The bigger story, however, may not be the cancelled fight. It may be what comes next.
A Brewing Legal Battle?
Former rival Logan Paul believes Danis is quietly preparing for an enormous legal move that could target the UFC, Madison Square Garden, and even fighters involved in the melee. Among the names circulating is Magomed “John Pork” Zaynukov, who was caught on camera landing a cheap shot during the brawl.

Speaking on a Kick stream with Adin Ross, Paul claimed the situation is heading toward a high-stakes lawsuit. As he put it, “I would bet a lot of money that he is preparing to sue Madison Square Garden and UFC. His argument would be that when he went to Madison Square Garden he didn’t expect to be jumped by ten guys.”
Danis has already used the incident as the reason for missing a recent court date connected to the ongoing case filed by Nina Agdal. According to Paul, Danis is leaning heavily on the concussion angle. “He’s going through all the concussion protocols,” Paul said. “He actually didn’t show up to a deposition and blamed his concussion protocol. He pulled out of his fight, and so he’s gonna be able to claim damages. If he has a real concussion. He probably doesn’t. But he’s playing the game.”

Paul also added that a lawsuit is not just possible, but likely, saying Danis is “very likely going to sue them, and probably win.”
With the Misfits return scrapped and the legal spotlight intensifying, Danis may be shifting from fighting in the ring to fighting in court. What was supposed to be another Misfits showcase could now be the beginning of an entirely different kind of battle — one that might end up being more lucrative than any boxing payday.
