Logan Paul was seemingly just as surprised as everyone else when his younger brother Jake Paul revealed the identity of his next boxing opponent, Cédric Doumbé.
Jake recently confirmed that he will return to the boxing ring on December 24, taking on the former kickboxing world champion in a cruiserweight contest at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai. However, his opponent’s name did not exactly ring a bell with Logan, who had a hilarious reaction when Jake broke the news.
In a conversation between the brothers, Jake revealed that he would be fighting Doumbé, prompting Logan to respond: “DAMN, NO WAY! WHO THE FUCK IS THAT?”

Jake subsequently attempted to explain why Doumbé is a serious name in combat sports, pointing out his championship credentials and popularity in France.
“He’s a two-time world champion kickboxer and Glory champion and PFL champion,” Jake explained, before adding that Doumbé is a major star in France.
Logan’s reaction provided an amusing moment, particularly given that Jake is preparing for a comeback fight against an opponent with considerably more combat-sports experience than his usual celebrity boxing challengers.
Who Is Cédric Doumbé? Jake Paul’s Next Opponent Is No Ordinary Name
While Logan might not have been familiar with Doumbé, the French fighter has an impressive résumé in combat sports.
Born in Cameroon and representing France, Doumbé established himself as one of the most accomplished kickboxers of his generation. He is a former two-time GLORY Kickboxing welterweight world champion, finishing his kickboxing career with 75 victories, seven defeats and one draw, including 45 knockout wins.

Doumbé subsequently transitioned into mixed martial arts, where he built a 6-1 professional record. One of his most memorable performances came in September 2023, when he knocked out Jordan Zebo in just nine seconds at PFL Europe.
He also secured a first-round knockout victory over Jaleel Willis in 2024.
However, there is an interesting question surrounding the matchup: Doumbé has considerably more experience in kickboxing and MMA than professional boxing. His only previous professional boxing appearance came in 2015, when he defeated Mohamed Fodil over four rounds.
The eight-round contest against Paul will therefore represent a significant return to boxing for the Frenchman.
For Jake, meanwhile, this will be his first appearance since suffering a knockout defeat against Anthony Joshua in December 2025, a fight that left him with a broken jaw and required surgery.
The matchup could provide Paul with an opportunity to re-establish himself following that setback. However, Doumbé’s striking credentials mean he cannot simply be dismissed as another celebrity opponent.
Interestingly, Jake’s brother might not have recognised the name, but the Frenchman will have an opportunity to introduce himself to a much bigger international audience on Christmas Eve.
