In the latest Love Island talent show episode, contestants were invited to showcase their personal skills in front of their fellow Islanders. While some played it safe with singing or dancing, Blu decided to take a more daring route—demonstrating Muay Thai, a combat sport he’s frequently talked about training in during his time in Thailand.
To assist him, Blu had fellow Islander Dee hold the pads as he began his display. Things, however, went off track almost immediately. As Blu attempted a roundhouse kick, he slipped and lost his balance, falling to the floor in front of the entire villa. Undeterred, he got back up and went for a spinning kick—a flashier technique. But instead of landing the move cleanly, Blu completely missed the pad, spinning through the air with no contact and plenty of cringe.
If I was Blu, I think I’d reconsider the ‘I ain’t f*****g leaving’ after that 😭 #LoveIsland pic.twitter.com/5plZytqsfb

The moment was hard to watch and quickly became the highlight of the night—for all the wrong reasons. Social media wasted no time reacting, with many fans pointing out the risky choice of trying to demonstrate martial arts under pressure, on a slick surface, and with limited warm-up.

Attempting any combat sport during a talent show is a gamble. Unless you’re Mayweather-level sharp on the pads, there’s a high chance it won’t go as smoothly as envisioned. Technique requires precision, timing, and focus—things that are hard to replicate in a villa surrounded by cameras and a laughing audience.
Blu’s passion for Muay Thai is clear, but the execution reminded everyone that not all talents translate well to the Love Island stage.
