“Man Is a Machine”- Demetrious Johnson Shares Shocking Reaction After Training With Khamzat Chimaev

Demetrious Johnson and Khamzat Chimaev

Khamzat Chimaev is undefeated in the UFC and currently holds the middleweight title after beating Dricus Du Plessis. The fighter is yet to defend his title for the first time, but his dominance has certainly made him a fan favourite against other contenders.

Chimaev recently got an opportunity to train with former UFC champion Demetrious Johnson and spent some time training together. The Hall of Famer recently shared his experience while training with Chimaev, who is way bigger than him physically, during their intense sessions.

Khamzat was like, ‘Come on DJ, come on, let’s move around a little bit.’ He’s so f***ing strong and big, man… I’m like, ‘I can fight him.’ Yeah, it didn’t work out that way,” said Demetrious Johnson via The Ariel Helwani Show.

In the video, Chimaev and DJ were seen moving casually and having fun while sparring, and the mutual respect between both were quite visible. Johnson has experience in fighting and grappling with heavyweights; however, he was definitely impressed by Chimaev’s conditioning.

That man is a machine. I’m not part of the camp… I am not worthy to be on that team. Everyone on that team is undefeated. Every single one of them,” Demetrious Johnson continued.

UFC veteran predicts Khamzat Chimaev vs. Sean Strickland

Recently, Sean Strickland beat Anthony Hernandez to earn a title shot against Khamzat Chimaev. The fighters will meet in the main event of UFC 328, and the hype around it is massive given their long-standing beef.

Colby Covington recently spoke about the bout in detail and shared his prediction. “Khamzat’s going to take him down and submit him. He’s not going to be stupid and strike with Sean… He’s just going to make it straight wrestling. I think he’s going to put Strickland in some really bad positions,” said Colby Covington via Submission Radio.

Chimaev is well known for his relentless pressure and ground game, and Strickland is confident about his takedown defence. The bad blood between them has made this fight one of the most anticipated in the upcoming months.
