Pete Mercer has officially marked his return to competitive action with a statement victory. On September 6th, 2025, at Birthday Bash 3 in Swindon, the Mercer’s Gym head coach fought his way to the Prize Fighter Heavyweight Championship, securing a £2,000 prize and reminding the fight world why his name still carries weight.
The tournament featured an eight-man heavyweight lineup, testing fighters across multiple bouts in one night. Mercer rose to the challenge in emphatic fashion, competing in three fights, delivering two knockouts, and edging one win on points to seal the tournament crown.
For Mercer, this victory was about more than just silverware. Having retired undefeated in K-1 kickboxing back in 2014 and holding a 2–0 professional boxing record, his competitive return was highly anticipated. Stepping back into the ring on short notice, he proved his durability, experience, and finishing power remain at the highest level.

After the win, Mercer shared his gratitude, calling it an honour to compete against “great men” and expressing pride in representing Mercer’s Gym, the facility he founded and continues to lead as head coach. The night ended with Mercer celebrating alongside his family, team, and supporters, belt strapped proudly around his waist.
This triumph adds yet another chapter to his combat sports legacy and shows that, even years after retirement, Pete Mercer still has the ability to dominate when it matters most.
