Stamp Fairtex Grinds Out Selina Flores, Sets Sights On MMA Return
Stamp Fairtex found her winning form again, even if she was not entirely satisfied with how she got there.
The former three-sport ONE World Champion claimed a hard-fought split decision over two-time WBC Muay Thai World Champion Selina “Teep Queen” Flores in the atomweight Muay Thai main event of ONE Fight Night 47 on Prime Video this past Friday, September 4, live from Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium.
Across three rounds, Stamp mixed body kicks, sharp punches, clinch knees, and a spinning attack late in the fight to push her striking record to 66-18. Rather than press forward into Flores’ longer frame, she made a tactical decision before the opening bell that shaped the entire contest.
“My game plan was to let her walk to my game plan. Because if I walked her down and pressured her, she is very good at using angles. So then it would have been her game plan. So I let her walk and walk forward to me,” Stamp said.
She believed she had done enough to win the first two rounds, though she was candid about the third.
“I think I won in the first and the second, and I think I had a lot of good punches, and a lot of damage. But like I said, the third round, not enough action. I wasn’t active that much,” she said.
That mix of satisfaction and self-criticism defined her overall assessment of the performance.
“I can say Stamp is back, but just like 80 percent, not 100 percent yet. Because I should take more action,” she said. “I believe in myself that I won this fight. But I was just disappointed in myself, that it’s not three judges, just two judges. So I’m happy but still disappointed.”
With the win banked, Stamp’s attention has already shifted to a return to MMA, the discipline that made her the only fighter in ONE Championship history to hold three World Titles at once.
“Yeah, it is still the plan. I think the next fight I want to fight in MMA. So please, Chatri [Sityodtong], let me fight that game. I can fight anyone, but I think it’s Chihiro. Chihiro, she is very good. So it might be a good fight if I fight with her,” she said.
