Tyson Fury recently ended his retirement and is scheduled to face Arslanbek Makhmudov on April 11 in a high-profile comeback bout. Ahead of the contest, Fury resumed his trademark promotional tour, delivering animated trash talk and playful verbal exchanges with reporters.
The fight marks Fury’s return following consecutive title defeats against Oleksandr Usyk back in 2024 that shocked boxing fans. During a recent interview appearance, the host reminded Fury about Anthony Joshua previously claiming he did not view him as a ‘real fighter’.

While the ‘Gypsy King’ has often seized opportunities to ridicule AJ publicly, this time he surprised listeners by refusing to escalate tensions. Instead of mocking Joshua’s comments, Fury responded calmly, showing restraint, regarding Joshua’s recent involvement in a fatal accident.
“I’m not going to say too much about Anthony Joshua because at this time in his life, he’s got a lot going on with the tragedies and the deceased friends that he’s had. So that’s why I won’t go into it with him. If it was other people, I could go in on them. But I’m not going in on AJ at these times,” said Tyson Fury via Ring Magazine.
“I’m not interested in going toe-to-toe with somebody who’s in a bad place at the moment. I’ve been in a bad place many, many times. … I wish them boys all the best.”

Tyson Fury responds to Deontay Wilder’s recent accusations
In the same interview, Tyson Fury mentioned that he doesn’t kick a man when he’s down but likes to hype them up and then beat them in the boxing ring. The former heavyweight champion was also accused of cheating by his old rival, Deontay Wilder, in recent interviews.

According to Wilder, Fury cheated in two of their fights, and he has proof and artifacts to support his claim. The veteran is planning to expose Fury with his documentary and also challenged Fury to sue him if he’s bluffing.
When asked about it, Fury chose not to say anything, as he previously mentioned that Wilder needs help. “I pray for Wilder. I’ve got no hard feelings against him. He’s got problems mentally and physically,” Fury continued.
Nevertheless, a potential showdown between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua remains one of the most discussed matchups in modern heavyweight boxing. If finalized, the blockbuster clash would generate enormous global attention and massive pay-per-view numbers. Fans continue speculating about Joshua’s return timeline and whether both icons will eventually collide inside the boxing ring.
