UFC 310 marked the final pay-per-view of the year for the world’s biggest MMA promotion. The card was headlined by a flyweight championship bout between Alexandre Pantoja and Kai Asakura.
The Japanese MMA star who was making his promotional debut had a fiery start. However, Pantoja proved to be too slick for him. Ultimately, the Brazilian proved to be too much for Asakura and secured a second-round submission victory further etching his name as one of the best fighters in the promotion.
In the co-main event, Shavkat Rakhmonov took on Ian Garry. In the bout which had major title shot implications, Garry walked in as a heavy underdog. On the flip side, Rakhmonov who had won all of his fights via finishes was favored to get another finish.
However, that did not seem to be the case as the fight went the distance. In the end, it was Rakhmonov who prevailed on top with a unanimous decision victory.
