Vero And Kana To Clash In Possible ONE World Title Eliminator At The Inner Circle On May 22

A win on May 22 at Lumpinee Stadium could mean a shot at ONE World Title gold. Both fighters know it, and that makes this one worth watching closely.

Former Lethwei Champion Vero “The Kayan Leopard” meets former K-1 Champion Kana “Krusher Queen” Morimoto in an atomweight kickboxing clash at The Inner Circle on Friday, May 22, live in Asia primetime from Bangkok, Thailand. The winner could emerge as the leading contender for “The Queen” Phetjeeja Lukjaoporongtom’s ONE Women’s Atomweight Kickboxing World Title.

Vero arrives on the back of three consecutive wins, each one hard-earned against quality opposition. The 29-year-old Myanmar striker made her promotional debut in Muay Thai, but the results have been consistently competitive.

She scored a narrow split decision loss on debut, followed by a knockout win over Junior Fairtex, a split decision over Li “Miracle Girl” Mingrui, and most recently a closely-contested victory over Israel’s Shir Cohen in February. Now she makes the switch to kickboxing looking to secure the biggest win of her ONE Championship career.

Kana is equally driven and equally battle-tested. The 33-year-old Japanese veteran had a difficult start to life in the promotion, losing to the legendary Anissa “C18” Meksen in December 2024, before responding with a dominant unanimous decision over Moa “The X-Guard” Carlsson a month later.

That win earned her a ONE Women’s Atomweight Kickboxing World Title shot against Phetjeeja in March 2025, and though she came up short over five competitive rounds, she has not stopped chasing a rematch since.

She returned last November to spoil former three-sport queen Stamp Fairtex’s comeback with a unanimous decision win, and arrives at May 22 with momentum and a clear objective — one more statement win to put herself back in line for the gold she came so close to claiming.

Two hungry, proven strikers. One of the sport’s most coveted titles waiting for the winner. The Inner Circle on May 22 delivers the next chapter.
