Anthony Joshua Gets Back In Training After Elbow Surgery

Anthony Joshua has returned to public training with a powerful display of left-hand pad work — his first since undergoing surgery on his right elbow. The former two-time heavyweight champion is currently recovering in Oman following his knockout defeat to Daniel Dubois in September 2024.

Although he’s unable to throw punches with his right hand, Joshua’s latest session demonstrated his continuing strength and determination. Promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed that Joshua should be back to full punching capacity within six weeks, eyeing a potential fight between September and November 2025.

While rematches with Dubois or Oleksandr Usyk appear off the table, Saudi Arabia is reportedly organizing a two-fight deal under its Riyadh Season banner. Among the possible opponents are long-time rival Dillian Whyte and rising American Jared Anderson, though Anderson’s recent loss to Martin Bakole may hinder those plans.

Meanwhile, hopes of a clash with Tyson Fury remain uncertain. Fury recently reaffirmed his retirement, claiming he’s satisfied with his accomplishments and not interested in fighting again. However, Joshua has expressed his continued desire to face Fury, keeping the door open for what would be one of British boxing’s most anticipated bouts.

As Anthony Joshua works toward recovery, his recent training footage has stirred excitement among fans. His focus and effort to regain top form reflect his ongoing ambition to return to the summit of the heavyweight division.
