Yuki Yoza vs Petchtanong scheduled for huge bantamweight kickboxing battle at ONE Friday Fights 116

Former K-1 Champion Yuki Yoza will face his biggest test yet when he squares off against former ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Champion Petchtanong Petchfergus in a blockbuster clash.

The pair will collide on Friday, 18th July at ONE Friday Fights 116, inside Bangkok, Thailand’s iconic Lumpinee Stadium, with the winner potentially earning a shot at reigning ONE bantamweight kickboxing lord Jonathan “The General” Haggerty.

Yoza made an emphatic statement in his ONE Championship debut this past May. He systematically picked apart previously undefeated Russian Elbrus Osmanov across three rounds of kickboxing action at ONE Friday Fights 109.

The Japanese striker’s clinical performance showed his new audience exactly why his arrival in ONE was met with plenty of hype. And now the Team Vasileus product has his sights set on former champion Petchtanong, who stands in his way of ONE World Title contention.

The Thai legend captured the ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Title three years ago at ONE 163 in November 2022. He outpointed former king Hiroki Akimoto to a unanimous decision win before a lengthy suspension kept him away from competition.

But Petchtanong’s return last summer was nothing short of spectacular. He ran through fellow former champion Alaverdi Ramazanov with a thunderous second-round finish that reminded everyone why he once ruled the division.

However, he’ll need every ounce of that experience against Yoza, whose devastating kicks and relentless pressure have already proven too much for one undefeated prospect.

With both men desperate to secure their place in the title picture, this stylistic clash between youth and experience promises fireworks at the hallowed Lumpinee Stadium.
