Jake Paul has once again stirred the combat sports world, this time by revealing that he’s had “preliminary conversations” with UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira’s team regarding a potential boxing match. Speaking about the idea, Paul hinted that both sides are interested in making the crossover fight happen.

According to Paul, Pereira’s camp is open to the idea, but contractual obligations with the UFC stand as the main barrier. “His team is down to do the fight,” Paul said. “I think the only thing preventing it is the UFC and if these guys can get out of their contracts to fight me. It would be a massive fight at some point, and I know he’s down to make it happen.”

A clash between Paul and Pereira would be one of the most intriguing crossover bouts to date — pitting Paul’s improving boxing skills against one of the UFC’s most dangerous strikers. Pereira, known for his knockout power and championship pedigree in both kickboxing and MMA, would bring a different kind of challenge for Paul, who currently holds a 12–1 professional boxing record.
