Khamzat Chimaev Issues Chilling Warning to Ian Garry After Intense UFC Qatar Altercation

Khamzat Chimaev and Ian Garry’s rivalry

Ian Garry picked up a decisive victory in the co-main event of UFC Qatar against former welterweight champion Belal Muhammad. The fighter defended several of Muhammad’s takedowns and found success in striking, ultimately winning the bout via unanimous decision. However, his night escalated further when he became involved in a heated physical altercation with reigning middleweight champion Khamzat Chimaev backstage.

Following the event, Ian Garry went on to congratulate Arman Tsarukyan, who submitted Dan Hooker to get one step closer to the title shot. Tsarukyan was accompanied by Khamzat Chimaev, and he didn’t like the way Garry tapped him on the back. The ‘Borz’ reacted immediately and violently pushed back Garry, which resulted in an altercation, and the officials had to get involved.

Chimaev is well known for getting into several physical altercations with other fighters like Paulo Costa and Team Khabib in the past. Following the incident, Chimaev claimed that Garry was disrespectful, but according to the ‘Future’, the Russian showed immaturity. The Irishman claimed that despite being the middleweight champion, Chimaev acted like a child and showed “little d*ck energy.”

Garry stated he intends to eventually settle his growing rivalry with Chimaev, promising a future confrontation to resolve their tension. Chimaev reacted angrily to the bold callout and quickly posted a stern public warning directed at the rising welterweight contender. “White boy, you will not survive one minute in my world,” wrote Khamzat Chimaev via Instagram.

Chimaev is regarded as the most dominant wrestler on the UFC roster, consistently showcasing grappling strength throughout his career. He controlled his last opponent, Dricus Du Plessis, for 21 minutes, ultimately securing the championship through relentless pressure. Fans are eager to see whether he and Ian Garry will eventually meet inside the octagon and settle their rivalry.

Ian Garry wants to do what Conor McGregor failed to do against Team Khabib

Ian Garry has often stated his ambition to reach a level of greatness similar to that achieved by Conor McGregor. Many fans have highlighted similarities between Garry and McGregor regarding their dynamic fighting styles and sharp, confident trash-talking approaches. Moving forward, Garry hopes to recreate the iconic rivalry between Ireland and Russia established previously by McGregor against Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Following his win at UFC Qatar, Garry called out Islam Makhachev and believes this fight has a similar potential. “Islam Makhachev is the protege of Khabib. I’m the protege of Conor….I’m a longer, faster, more versatile version of Conor. It’s the perfect fight to make… The ball is in his(Makhachev) court. Whenever he is ready, whenever he wants. If he wants to do it in Dagestan, I will see him there,” said Ian Garry.

Makhachev has also responded to the call-out and claimed that he wasn’t that impressed by Ian Garry’s performance. However, the Dagestani is ready to fight anybody that the UFC will throw at him. The champ wants to remain active and get the most number of title defences in the welterweight division before retirement.
