Fabricio “Hokage” Andrey will face British debutant Owen Jones in featherweight submission grappling at ONE Fight Night 44: Jarvis vs. Rungrawee II on Prime Video on Friday, June 26, live in U.S. primetime from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Ruotolo picked up an injury following his lightweight MMA victory over Hiroyuki Tetsuka at The Inner Circle on May 15, forcing the postponement of his scheduled title defence against Andrey.
The Manaus native has gone 3-0 since arriving in ONE Championship, collecting unanimous decision wins over Ashley Williams, Eduardo Granzotto, and Joao “Bisnaga” Mendes through a combination of explosive takedowns, dynamic attacks, and the kind of relentless forward pressure that has made him one of the most compelling grapplers in the promotion.
All three victories have been decisive. None have ended by submission, and it’s a detail Andrey will be looking to address against Jones as he continues building his case for a world title shot.
Jones, 21, is a product of Apex Jiu-Jitsu Academy who cross-trains at B-Team in Austin, Texas, and announced himself to the wider grappling world by winning the 2023 ADCC European Trials at 66 kilograms as a relative unknown.
He defeated Robert Degle and Ashley Williams, the same Williams that Andrey beat on his ONE debut, en route to the title. His game is built around leg locks, a reverse closed guard that creates unusual angles for opponents to manage, and the kind of technical leverage that neutralises size advantages before they become relevant.
The stylistic contrast is genuine and potentially explosive. Andrey’s chaos against Jones’ precision is a battle between a Brazilian who overwhelms with energy against a Londoner who picks opponents apart with patience and technique. A submission finish for either man on June 26 would immediately accelerate the trajectory of their respective ONE Championship careers.
