How One Bad Night Convinced Gingsanglek To Rebuild Everything
A single loss can either shrink a fighter or completely rebuild him. Gingsanglek Wor Kumchamnarn chose the second path.
The 25-year-old Thai returns to action against ONE newcomer Dmitri Ramos in a bantamweight Muay Thai co-main event at The Inner Circle 26, streaming live in Asia primetime from Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium this Friday, August 14.
A knockout loss to four-time Muay Thai World Champion Yodlekpet Or Atchariya halted a three-fight winning streak that included brutal first-round finishes over Thant Zin and Alexey Balyko.
Rather than sulk, Gingsanglek leaned on his teammates and turned the setback into fuel for this exact moment.
“It was a really disappointing result. Building a three-fight winning streak only to stumble on the fourth was tough. But returning to the gym and having supportive teammates helped me refocus and train just as hard as before. Now, I am hungrier than ever for a victory,” he said.
That hunger has translated into a complete transformation of his approach to the sport, moving well beyond raw talent into a fully science-backed training regimen he credits for a noticeably different physique.
“I realized I only have a few fight years left in my career, so I need to give absolute dedication to this current window. I stay consistent with training, weightlifting, fitness routines, nutrition, and proper rest. My discipline regarding health and preparation is night and day compared to before,” he said.
Gingsanglek has studied Ramos closely despite facing a fighter with zero ONE Championship tape, and he likes exactly what the stylistic matchup offers him.
“He is a southpaw who likes to press forward, throw combinations, chop legs, and force an aggressive pace. I actually enjoy fighting brawlers, so if he wants to march forward, that plays right into my hands,” he said.
Even with the matchup seemingly in his favor, Gingsanglek refuses to treat Ramos as a mere stepping stone.
“There are no easy fights inside the ring. If he wasn’t a legitimate fighter, he would not be sharing the ring with me. I am not taking him lightly at all.”
