Anthony Joshua shared his thoughts on the main card fight between Agit Kabayel and Zhilei Zhang, which took place under the Beterbiev vs. Bivol headliner. After the fight, he gave a quick interview.
Kabayel knocked out Zhang in the 6th round with body shots to claim the vacant Interim WBC World Heavyweight Title last Saturday. Just last year, he won the WBC Continental Americas and NABO Heavyweight Titles with a 7th-round knockout of Frank Sanchez. He now has a professional record of 26 wins.

Joshua praised Kabayel’s performance and his fighting style. He said, “What I saw tonight reminds me of what he does in the gym. He’s a great body puncher… just look at it from a body perspective. Agit works both the head and the body. You never know where he’s coming from.”
He also explained Agit Kabayel’s strategy, describing him not as a power puncher, but as someone who uses a “touch, touch, heavy” approach. He said:
“He doesn’t have power in every shot. He touches, touches, then goes heavy… and just constantly breaks you down over time. He’s not just a bruiser; he’s actually a thinking fighter as well.”

Should Anthony Joshua Face Agit Kabayel in His Next Fight?
Agit Kabayel has at least as much skill as Parker, and he’s much more destructive. There’s no heavyweight better than him at body shots—no one comes close. His head shots are impressive too. He’s also faced a harder and faster puncher than Joshua and stood toe-to-toe with him. I doubt Joshua could handle that.

Anthony Joshua got dropped four times and quit against Ruiz. Agit Kabayel is a risky fight for him. Ruiz has faster hands and arguably a better chin. Not that Kabayel doesn’t have a strong chin, but Kabayel lacks the power that Ruiz and Dubois have. He fought an injured Sanchez and an older version of Zhang.
Just because Kabayel lacks one-punch power doesn’t mean he isn’t extremely destructive. However, if this fight ever happens, Kabayel would likely only be able to knock out Joshua with a clean head shot, which is unlikely. Kabayel vs. someone like Michael Hunter would be a dream fight.
