There’s New Kid On The Block..

The Global Fight League (GFL) Is an upcoming Team Based MMA Competition. Founded by Darren Owen In 2024. The Promotion signed Multiple Former Fighters Including Yoel Romero , Tony Ferguson , Alexander Gustaffson and Many More. GFL may hold its First event in April This year in which fighters will be allocated to their Respective City Based Teams.

HOW THE GFL WORKS

SEASON STRUCTURE

The Draft Was held in January 2025, where it was announced That it will be competed in city based teams. Total 6 teams will compete for Prize. 4 teams will will move Further for Semi Finals as mentioned in picture above.

POINTS SYSTEM

Teams Move Ahead In The Game Only On The Basis Of Points Scored Each. Every Finish will Add 4 Points To The Telly along With 3 Points on Decision win. 2 Points Will Be Given In Case of DRAW. A Decision Loss will still Hand You 1 Point while no points will be given on KO/Submission Loss.

ATHLETE BENEFITS

Also One Of The Most Discussed Topic Of Fighters Benefits will Be Addressed Here. Fighters will Be Shared 50/50 Revenue Depending On Shows Success. Athletes Will Be Given many Other Facilities like Retirement Fund and Insurance will Be covered Here along With global exposure is Promised For Up and Coming fighters.

Each Teams will Have Its Own Dedicated Managers and Coaches, When MMA Veterans Like Cain Velasquez and Wanderlei Silva Are On Board Its Bound To have Attention Of Fans. Lets Look at the Respective teams :
