Wayne Rooney Challenges Jamie Carragher To Boxing Match With Explosive Call-Out

Wayne Rooney has sent a direct message to Jamie Carragher, revealing that he would love to face the former Liverpool defender in a boxing match.

The former Manchester United and England striker made the surprising call-out during a visit captured by Queensberry, where he was filmed addressing Carragher directly.

Rooney did not hide his enthusiasm for the potential matchup, delivering a clear message to his former football rival.

“I’d f***ing love to get Carragher in the ring, so you can tell him. Carra, I would love to get you in the ring,” Rooney said.

The comments have sparked an interesting possibility of two former Premier League rivals settling their differences inside a boxing ring rather than on the football pitch.

Rooney Has Previous Boxing Experience

Rooney’s interest in boxing is nothing new. The former striker boxed during his childhood and spent time at Croxteth Amateur Boxing Club in Liverpool, where his uncle Richie Rooney was involved.

However, his boxing ambitions were put on hold as he pursued a professional football career, with Everton advising him to stop boxing as he progressed through their academy.

He also famously suffered a knockout during a playful sparring session with former Manchester United teammate Phil Bardsley in 2015.

There is currently no confirmation of a fight between Rooney and Carragher, but Rooney has made his intentions clear.

Whether Carragher accepts the challenge remains to be seen.
