We hear more and more from boxing fan purists that YouTubers and celebrity boxing are killing the sport. However, one promotion that I’m afraid I have to disagree with is Kingpyn boxing. Kingpyn is hosting top-level events specialising in these styles of fights with signed fighters of Youtubers, musicians and even OnlyFans stars. 

What is Kingpyn boxing?

Kingpyn is hosting the world’s first YouTube boxing tournament over three events. However, as more and more events featuring some of the greatest names on the internet appear, the world of influencer boxing continues to expand. Misfits Boxing, owned by KSI, is unquestionably the market leader after inking a five-year contract with DAZN earlier this year. Ten events are anticipated to be held as part of the agreement in 2023.

The ‘Biggest Influencer Boxing Tournament’ the world has ever seen, Kingpyn’s ‘High Stakes’ event is here to make a statement. These tournaments allow men and women to see who is the best in their weight class. 

When is the “High Stakes” Boxing Competition featuring Kingpyn?

Over the next few months, three events will make up Kingpyn’s “High Stakes” Boxing Tournament. The first will begin on April 22nd at the OVO Arena in Wembley, London, and is the quarterfinal round.

On June 3rd, Dublin will host the “High Stakes” semifinal round at the venerable 3Arena, allowing competitors to redeem themselves and others a shot at victory.

The first male and female “Kingpyn” will be crowned at the final round, which will take place on August 5th at the O2 Arena in London.

Who will compete in the “High Stakes” Boxing Competition hosted by Kingpyn?

Eight men and eight women will compete in KingPyn’s “High Stakes”. In addition to introducing fresh faces to the scene, the tournament features some influencers who have already been seen putting on a show in the ring.

Fight Card for Kingpyn’s “High Stakes” Boxing Tournament

The quarterfinal round fight card for April 22nd has already been chosen. The resurrection of some rivalries will also be fascinating for fans to witness between their favourite influencers. Of course, Simple Simon vs Ed Matthews and Elle Brooke vs Astrid Wett are the co-main events.

Ginty vs Luke Bennett, Paddy Murphy vs Dave (The Other Guy), Tempo Arts vs Smithey, Ezekiel The 1st vs Jak Stevo, and Pully Arif vs Tommy Mulligan will then take place on the undercard.

Before the first main event, the wildly popular Chef Dave and Aaron Hunt will take the stage.

Notably, AnEsonGib and Austin McBroom will square off again after their fiery fight from the previous year, which Gib won after knocking McBroom to the ground five times.

Fans are eager to see Elle Booke return to the ring after she easily defeated Faith Ordway and defeated AJ Bunker by a unanimous decision. The OnlyFans star will compete against Ms Danielka as the most seasoned female combatant in the competition.

Elle Brooke Kingpyn Next Fight

Elle Brooke will face a size disadvantage in her upcoming bout, but she is hopeful Johnny Fisher can assist her. The OnlyFans star will face Aleksandra Danielka on April 22nd in the quarterfinals of the Kingpyn Boxing influencer event.

Danielka, most known for competing on the Polish version of Love Island, immediately overshadowed Brooke as they stood side by side. Danielka will be making her professional debut, whilst Brooke has competed in two fights and won both of them.

At the Mark Tibbs facility, Brooke also works out with professionals like IBF bantamweight champion Ebanie Bridges. Brooke hopes to enlist the assistance of 8-0 heavyweight “The Romford Bull” Fisher defeated Alfonso Damiani by KO over the weekend to prepare for her match against Danielka on April 22nd.

AnEsonGib and Austin McBroom will square off again on the men’s side of the competition; the British fighter won the first meeting in the ring.

KSI has also declared that he will ‘gladly fight’ the tournament victor in August of this year.

Will King Pyn’s TikTok boxing match rival YouTube boxing in popularity?

After KSI and Joe Weller sold out the Copper Box Arena in 2018, there has been a thriving YouTube boxing culture. Since then, YouTube Boxing has expanded to Madison Square Garden, where KSI squared off against Logan Paul one more.

After the YouTube vs TikTok event in June 2021, the forthcoming event will be the second significant boxing event that TikTokers have participated in.

How to watch the “High Stakes” Boxing Tournament with Kingpyn

On the Kingpyn website, fans can start buying tickets for the quarterfinals on March 17th. More information about the competition will be disclosed in the following weeks leading up to the event, so be sure to check back as more is revealed.

Final Thoughts

Off the back of the popularity of YouTube boxing in recent years, Kingpyn boxing is following in its footsteps. With influencers going toe to toe, the debate on whether influencer boxing is ruining the sport rages. However, there’s no denying the element of fun, popularity and awareness that this type of boxing brings to the sport.
