The knockout that stopped Maisangkum Sor Yingcharoenkarnchang’s six-fight winning streak taught him something he could not have learned any other way.
A first-round loss to Watcharaphon Laochokcharoen at ONE Friday Fights 92 exposed a recklessness he had never been forced to confront before, and the version of himself returning to the main event of ONE Friday Fights 158 on Friday, June 12, is the one built in response to it.
The 25-year-old Boxing Army 3 affiliate faces Petnamkhong Sor Maneekhot in strawweight Muay Thai, live in Asia primetime from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Watcharaphon loss and the decision win over Petsangwan Sor Samarngarment that followed have reshaped how Maisangkum approaches exchanges at the top of his range — the explosive left hook to the body that built his reputation now arrives inside a more considered framework rather than driving it blindly.
“I learned a major lesson from my loss to Watcharaphon: I can’t be careless and too hot-headed, because that leads to a poor performance,” Maisangkum said. “Getting back into the win column has given me a lot more motivation to keep fighting. I was highly focused, and everything turned out exactly how I envisioned it.”
Petnamkhong arrives on a two-fight winning streak, including a TKO of Tonglampoon FA Group, having developed a noticeably broader weapons range across his recent bouts. His physical strength has grown, his combinations have diversified, and his confidence has risen accordingly. Maisangkum has mapped all of it — and identified where the threat actually sits.
“Petnamkhong’s punches aren’t really that concerning, but I have to be extremely careful with his knees and elbows,” he said. “He has gotten physically stronger and has thrown a wider variety of weapons. This led to his beautiful performances, securing back-to-back wins.”

The tactical answer is built on speed and composure rather than early aggression. Maisangkum intends to move first, counter second, and turn the first round into an information-gathering exercise before opening up.
“My advantage in this fight is my superior speed. If he rushes in carelessly, he might get caught by a counter,” Maisangkum said. “My plan is to gradually move forward and close the distance, prioritizing caution first. Once the first round is out of the way, I’ll step on the gas. If I see an opening to finish the fight, I’ll take it immediately. If I land cleanly, he’s definitely going down.”
The contract Maisangkum has been building toward sits one strong performance away, and the person who gives that pursuit its deepest meaning is not in the building on Friday night.
“I will do my absolute best in this fight,” he said. “I want to keep this winning streak alive, fight for my son, and open up the opportunity to chase that ONE contract once again.”
