Ramadan Ondash’s World Title Hopes Ride On Beating Johan Ghazali At The Inner Circle 24
Ramadan Ondash has already decided what beating Johan Ghazali would mean for his career. Ghazali, for his part, is not interested in making it easy for him.
The two 19-year-old strikers collide in a flyweight Muay Thai co-main event at The Inner Circle 24, broadcasting live in Asia primetime this Friday, July 31, from Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium, exclusively for subscribers.
Ondash has framed the matchup as a launchpad toward a shot at reigning ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Asadula Imangazaliev. That confidence stems from his unanimous decision win over Suriyanlek Por Yenying in his flyweight debut this past May.
Ghazali sees something else entirely riding on the outcome.
“He knows this fight will be the biggest one yet for him,” Ghazali said. “He has to get past me. I’m ready for a fighter of his style and his caliber. I love this type of brawl-style fight. This is always my bread and butter.”
Ghazali also arrives at this event aiming to bounce back from a hard-fought defeat to Shimon Yoshinari at ONE SAMURAI 1 this past April. That motivation to return to the win column adds real weight to Friday’s assignment.
“I see Ramadan as a version of myself from two to three years ago in terms of an experience standpoint,” he said. “I have the experience now, and I’m a little more mature than him heading into this fight.”
A win would also hand Ghazali serious leverage of his own, given Ondash has already positioned this bout as a stepping stone toward gold. Both fighters, in other words, have plenty riding on Friday beyond pride alone.
Ghazali insists his experience gives him the edge when the stakes are this high for both men.
“I think a calculated [version of] me will win the fight,” Ghazali said. “And I think if it goes three rounds, I’ll definitely win it. I wouldn’t say stay calm, but I’ll still push the pace, but very maturely, very smartly. I’m gonna do it in my favor in the ways that I’ve learned through experience from fighting good fighters. I’ll use all of my advantages to keep him guessing, and I don’t want to be reliant on just one thing.”
