ONE Women’s Strawweight Kickboxing World Champion Jackie Buntan will attempt to make history by capturing gold in a second discipline when she battles Austrian striker Stella Hemetsberger for the vacant ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Title.
The Filipino-American kickboxing queen will headline ONE Fight Night 35 on Saturday, 6th September, when she locks horns with the rising European contender inside Bangkok, Thailand’s legendary Lumpinee Stadium.
Buntan’s journey to this crossroads moment has been nothing short of remarkable since her ONE Championship bow in 2021. The 27-year-old Californian bulldozed through her first three promotional appearances before suffering heartbreak in her first World Title opportunity.
Her clash with Smilla Sundell for the inaugural strawweight Muay Thai strap at ONE 156 in April 2022 ended in a unanimous defeat, but the setback only fuelled her determination to reach the summit of combat sports.
Rather than dwelling on the disappointment, the Boxing Works standout channelled her frustration into consecutive victories versus Amber Kitchen, Diandra Martin, and Martine Michieletto, culminating in a masterclass performance against striking icon Anissa Meksen to claim kickboxing supremacy.

Now, with one belt already around her waist, Buntan stands on the precipice of joining an elite group of athletes who have conquered multiple disciplines under the ONE banner.
Standing in her path is Hemetsberger, whose meteoric rise through the strawweight ranks has been impossible to ignore.
The 25-year-old Austrian made an immediate impression upon her ONE debut at ONE Friday Fights 82 last October, outpointing Chellina Chirino in a statement-making performance that announced her arrival.
Since then, “The Terminator” has been unstoppable, adding another decision triumph before delivering a devastating first-round knockout of Vanessa Romanowski that secured her a lucrative US$100,000 contract with ONE as well as September’s golden opportunity.
The stylistic clash promises fireworks from the opening bell, with Buntan’s surgical striking set to collide with Hemetsberger’s relentless forward pressure.
With championship gold hanging in the balance and both women eager to etch their names into ONE Championship folklore, expect nothing less than an explosive encounter when these strawweight stars collide on 6th September.
