Reigning ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 will make his highly anticipated return to Japan when he faces surging Japanese striker Yuki Yoza at ONE 173 on November 16 at Tokyo’s Ariake Arena.
The bantamweight kickboxing bout marks a crucial comeback opportunity for “The Kicking Machine,” who is looking to bounce back from the most devastating setback of his career.
At ONE 172 in March, also in Japan, Superlek was stripped of his ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title after failing the hydration test and missing weight, before suffering a shocking unanimous decision loss to Nabil Anane.
“My comeback will be something else. I won’t repeat the same mistake. I’m ready to show my skills to Japanese fans,” Superlek declared when asked about his return to Tokyo.
The Thai superstar previously conquered Japan in January 2024, where he defeated superstar Takeru Segawa by decision to retain his flyweight kickboxing crown. Now he faces another formidable Japanese challenge in former K-1 Champion Yoza, who has made an impressive start to his ONE Championship journey.

Yoza has been on an absolute tear since joining ONE in May, scoring decisive victories over Elbrus Osmanov and former ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Champion Petchtanong Petchfergus. The 27-year-old has been vocal about wanting to face the Thai legend, promising a “leg-breaking battle.”
But Superlek isn’t intimidated by the prospect.
“Yuki is a strong fighter,” he said. “He’s a fast striker. I think those are his main strengths. I’m not intimidated of the fight being a kick war. I’m already working on the plans.”
The stakes couldn’t be higher for the former two-division ONE World Champion who promises to return to Japan and do much better. Beyond that, Superlek is excited about returning to a country he holds dear.
“Just having an opportunity to be part of this event is already the main goal for me to be in Japan,” he said. “Japan, we will see each other again very soon. I love Japan. Please send love and support.”
