In the particular episode, Peppa Pig featured a storyline involving same-sex parents, which Tristan found inappropriate for his daughter to view at such a young age. Tristan Tate urged people not to fall for such alleged propaganda, suggesting they should boycott these shows and streaming platforms entirely. He specifically mentioned Netflix, accusing the platform of promoting similar agendas through its wide range of children’s and family content. Recently, Netflix has faced heavy criticism online, with billionaire Elon Musk frequently calling out the company’s messaging on X.
Netflix shares dropped around 5% over one week, coinciding with Musk’s calls to cancel subscriptions. Reports claim Netflix lost $15–$25 billion in market capitalization in the days following Musk’s boycott campaigns.
