Boxing dates back as long as we can remember and it always remains one of, if not, the most popular combat sport. It may not run consistently like other styles of fighting like UFC and One, but when a major event is on, especially a heavyweight championship, everyone tunes in to see the spectacular.
However, as much as we love a good old style of Queensbury rules, us fans can be left quite dissapointed with many of the match ups, or simply not seeing the fights we want.
One of the biggest problems with boxing is that it has many sanctioning bodies and not one is considered the leader. This means you have multiple rankings and various champions in each body. Also, as there is many boxing promotions, each promoter can choose the fighters they would want on their card to give it the most excitement.
Sometimes this can be seen as a positive thing as it gives much more for the fans to dicuss on social media. Yet, most of the time it just makes the sport look disorganised and unstructured.

Why Boxing Should Have A League Promotion
As previously mentioned, boxing can have multiple champions in the same weight class at one time. If there was one boxing promotion like the UFC, boxers could sign to their roster and fight for that championship belt.
There are other MMA promotions, however the UFC is considered the best in the world, quite like the premiership in football.
Currently in boxing, we have Uysk vs Fury 2 fighting for what would of been the Undisputed rematch, but now Daniel Dubois has the IBF belt.
Also, if there was one single boxing league, fighters would be forced to be more active and a champion would have to defend his/her championship belt.
A reason why it would definitely be better for the fans is all the boxing fights would be shown on the same TV channel, making it less confusing.
Is It Possible To Have A Boxing League?
It is definitely possible for boxing to have a single league. However, in our opinion, it may require the biggest promotions like Matchroom and Queesnbury boxing to unify as one.
Conclusion
Boxing is a fantastic sport with many benefits. Whether you train yourself for fitness, compete, or even just like to watch it.
However, over recent years with the rise influencer boxing and fighters ranked differently in various bodies, it makes boxing not as popular as it could be.
