Yod-IQ Wants A Decisive Finish In Bid To Dethrone Rambolek
Yod-IQ Or Pimolsri still remembers the shock of seeing his own name paired against a World Champion for the first time.
The 24-year-old challenges reigning ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Rambolek Chor Ajalaboon in the main event of The Inner Circle 30 this Friday, September 11, streaming for members from Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium.
“When I saw the fight card pairing me against Rambolek, I was a bit shocked because my time came so fast. But it felt earned because it’s such a massive opportunity,” he said. “Beating Kiamran, who was previously undefeated, proved that I truly deserved a shot at the championship title.”
That win over Kiamran Nabati extended his winning streak to 10 and pushed his record to 12-1, but Yod-IQ is careful not to underestimate the challenge now standing in his way.
“Rambolek fully deserves to be the champion. He’s got real skill and talent to reach that level. He’s no joke. He’s a tough opponent to fight,” he said. “The preparation for this fight has been even tougher because I had to level up. I have to be at 100 percent to take that win.”
The matchup also doubles as a proxy battle between two of Thailand’s most respected striking academies, with Yod-IQ training under Tawanchai PK Saenchai while Rambolek learns under Superbon.
“When it comes to fight IQ, I don’t think Rambolek and I are far apart at all. He has Superbon, and I have Tawanchai. Both sides will make good adjustments, so the gap isn’t wide at all,” he said.
Having studied Rambolek’s counter-striking closely, Yod-IQ believes his size and versatility give him the tools to finish the fight outright rather than leave it to the judges.
“I’m physically bigger than Rambolek. Plus, my versatility of strikes is a big factor. If the opportunity comes, I definitely want to go for the knockout. I want a decisive finish,” he said.
For a fighter who spent years chasing a contract before finally earning one, the stakes of Friday night carry a weight beyond the belt itself.
“Winning the ONE World Title would elevate me to a whole new level. At the very least, becoming a champion would make me a role model for kids and fans, inspiring more Thai people. I want to put that belt over my shoulder to make a better life for myself.”
