Tony Ferguson makes boxing return, defends interim title
Tony Ferguson will be making his second walk to the boxing ring in Misfits Boxing’s next event, labelled “The Fight Before Christmas”
The former UFC interim lightweight champion hopes to achieve yet another win under the promotion as he defends his interim middleweight title on December 20, with the fights taking place in Dubai.
Ferguson will be taking on Warren Spencer in a featured bout on the event. Spencer last fought in MMA on the same night as Ferguson beating Salt Papi back in August. He suffered a submission loss to Dillon Danis via a 15 second guillotine in the first round. “The Mechanic” now returns to boxing after he achieving back-to-back wins in Misfits in 2024 and 2025.
“El Cucuy” made headlines in his epic Misfits debut when he knocked out Salt Papi via third-round TKO to win the interim middleweight title. The fight was Ferguson’s first bout outside the UFC, bouncing back following eight consecutive losses in MMA.
The Misfits card in Dubai, headlined by current CEO Andrew Tate and current heavyweight champion Chase Demoor, will feature Dillon Danis’ return to action. He made headlines once again (for the wrong reasons), after participating in an ugly altercation this past weekend at UFC 322, causing him to leave the arena and banned from ever attending another UFC card.
Danis draws MMA veteran Anthony Taylor in the co-main event as the sole MMA fight on the card.
