“Try to Beat Her”- Rose Namajunas Targets Valentina Shevchenko Ahead of UFC 324 Fight Against Natalia Silva

Rose Namajunas vs. Natalia Silva

Rose Namajunas returns after seven months to face Natalia Silva on the UFC 324 main card amid massive anticipation. Her previous victory over Miranda Maverick restored confidence following a difficult loss against Erin Blanchfield in the competitive flyweight division.

The former strawweight champion remains a fan favourite and dreams about capturing the flyweight championship soon. According to Namajunas, defeating Silva will guarantee a title opportunity against Valentina Shevchenko, the division’s dominant reigning champion.

She has repeatedly praised Shevchenko as her favourite fighter while admitting she would fight relentlessly for personal and professional legacy. Despite deep admiration, Namajunas promised to prioritize victory, knowing championships demand sacrifice and unwavering belief inside the octagon.

It would definitely be conflicting emotions, but at the same time, I’m down to do it. She’s literally my favorite female fighter, so it’d be so weird because, obviously, I would never want to see her lose. But then I would have to go into a fight and try to beat her,” said Rose Namajunas via The Ariel Helwani Show.

In her last fight, Valentina Shevchenko recently defeated Zhang Weili convincingly, further strengthening her legacy as the most dominant flyweight champion in history. She has successfully defended her title twice since regaining it in 2024, proving unmatched consistency against elite competition.

Many experts now regard Shevchenko as one of the greatest fighters ever in women’s mixed martial arts. Rose Namajunas versus Natalia Silva at UFC 324 could determine the next challenger for Shevchenko’s prestigious championship belt.

Natalia Silva is confident about beating Rose Namajunas, wants Valentina Shevchenko next

Natalia Silva is undefeated in the UFC, defeating Alexa Grasso, Viviane Araujo, and former champion Jessica Andrade convincingly. Her striking speed, sharp footwork, and unpredictable combinations constantly overwhelm opponents. In a recent interview, Silva talked about a potential title fight with Valentina Shevchenko and her confidence in winning the bout.

Whether it’s going to be striking or any sort of grappling, I am going to beat her and I am going to be a champion,” said Natalia Silva via UFC Media Day.

Her strengths make Silva a betting favorite against Rose Namajunas, whose timing struggles against relentless pressure and movement lately. Despite the odds stacked against her, ‘Thug Rose’ is excited and ready for the challenge.
