Dana White Slams Media Over Rumors Surrounding UFC White House Card Delay

Dana White Slams Media Over Rumors Surrounding UFC White House Card Delay

For Dana White, the UFC White House event is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated and important cards of his career. White has maintained a long-standing relationship with Donald Trump, and this event will stand as a testament to their friendship. On top of that, the event is expected to celebrate the 250 years of American independence.

However, recent reports suggested that the official date for the event has been shifted from June 14. Those same reports further claimed that the White House event will instead take place on June 26. Following that speculation, White took to Instagram and firmly denied any such possibility while condemning the false reporting. “Media is so full of S**T,” wrote White on Instagram.

The UFC’s White House event is projected to become the most expensive production in the company’s history, potentially costing 60 million dollars. Reports suggest the June 14 fight card on the South Lawn would more than double UFC 306 at The Sphere’s 20 million production expenses.

Dana White has repeatedly claimed the White House show will surpass previous events in spending and complexity. White described the ambitious project as the most logistically challenging undertaking the promotion has ever attempted in its 30-year history.

The promotion plans to construct a temporary Octagon on the South Lawn with bleachers and seating for 5,000 guests. President Donald Trump also teased a stadium setup capable of holding around 100,000 fans for the spectacle.

UFC veteran reveals why Dana White signed Conor Benn

In one of the most shocking developments, Conor Benn left Matchroom Boxing to join Zuffa Boxing. The decision was followed by a heated verbal altercation between Dana White and Eddie Hearn, where both exchanged personal remarks. Reports claim White signed Benn with a $15 million deal, signaling a major power shift.

Shockingly, Benn reportedly never even called Hearn, who supported the fighter throughout several difficult periods. Hearn was left devastated by the abrupt move, feeling betrayed after years of loyalty. White later took to Instagram and openly flexed on his rival, celebrating the high-profile signing.

Demetrious Johnson recently discussed the situation, sharing his measured opinion on the unexpected development in boxing. “I think Dana White did it out of spite. I think Dana White did it because he can do that. I think Dana White is showing those guys I can make this big payday. Like, $15 million, boom, there you go,” said Demetrious Johnson via YouTube.

Following the move, Hearn has warned the UFC to brace for backlash from fighters who do not earn anywhere close to $15 million. Nevertheless, with big names such as Ryan Garcia circulating in discussions, it will be interesting to see who ultimately agrees to face Benn in his Zuffa debut.
